Brinkerhoff doesn't suck just because you say so.

Here's the thing. Brinkerhoff isn't for everybody. If you don't "get" how this comic is funny, I can't help you. I don't get everything that purports to be comedy out there, either. Some things just don't register the same way with me. Nothing I've seen in newspapers in the past 10 years does anything for me, and there are few comics on the web that can hold my interest anymore, either. It's sad and it's disappointing, but it's true.

If you have an honest critique of this comic, based on its merits, I welcome your feedback. Truly I do. But if you're out there just to slander what I do as a hobby; as a fun way to release some of the demons we all have, then I've got no time for you. Everything I do in this comic is intentional–the way it's drawn, the way it's written, and the way it's presented. If you have problems understanding the "whys", then it's little wonder you have problems with comprehension.

Validity has nothing to do with popularity. It's up to the individual and their connection to the work. Somewhere there's someone who's all-time favorite band is Supertramp.

Brinkerhoff does not suck. He just isn't for you.

Click away. We don't serve your kind here.

Thanks. And there's a free finger for your trouble.

Everyone's got their own concept of what's funny. I say Brink's funny. Comedy Central ain't.

Well said. I manage the comic link list on psychedelictreehouse.com, and I look at tons of comics and make evaluations about whether they belong there. Yours is a no brainer, but there are many people with weak offerings to be considered.

I don't know the story of their life. I don't know their age, or whether they are in a wheelchair, drawing with a pencil clenched between their teeth. Successful comics come from surprising places: read the first episodes of xkcd if you don't believe me. I am much more interested in the professionalism of the artist than the quality, and the conduct of the person with others.

If you've been judged, don't let it get to you. No one knows your story but you.

P.S. If you haven't found a title that holds your attention lately, take a look at Ugly Girl, and RedMask. One of them might do the trick -- but I know how you feel. Or, for a wacky one, beesbuzz.com.
